We spend much of our day taking in information, moving from one thing to the next in quick succession. This session offers a deliberate change of pace.
You will begin with grounding, centring and gentle breathwork before moving into a sound meditation using Himalayan singing bowls. Sound meditation works differently from a meditation where you are asked to focus on your breath or observe your thoughts. Sound has a beautiful way of helping us turn our attention inward. The session allows you to let go of some of the physical and emotional tightness we may carry in our muscles, our thoughts and emotions and sometimes even in memories. Here, the sounds themselves become the point of attention. The resonance of Himalayan singing bowls gives the mind something to follow, while the body gets a chance to settle into stillness.
You don't need to concentrate or follow a particular technique. You can simply lie down, listen and notice what you experience. As the bowls are played, you may notice the sound in the room, the vibrations in your body, your breathing, or simply the thoughts that come and go.
A short grounding and centring practice to help you settle in
Simple breathwork before the sound meditation
An extended sound meditation with Himalayan singing bowls
A space to slow down and breathe, as the sounds and vibrations help tense muscles relax
Time to rest and be still without needing to participate actively
This session is open to anyone curious about sound meditation. You do not need to be a regular meditator or have attended a sound bath before.
It may especially suit you if you:
Find it difficult to meditate by focusing only on your thoughts or breath
Want to explore a different way of bringing your attention back to the present moment
